Dawn's obituary
Dawn M. Fermino, born Dawn M. Cardeiro, passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on June 14th, 2024 at the age of 65. Dawn was also known as Dawn Kelley before marrying the love of her life, Peter, in May of 1995. Dawn was preceded in death by her mother, Julie V. (Wain) Baldner and her father, Richard J. Cardeiro and her great grandson, Riley. She is survived by her devoted step father, Edward (Ned) Baldner and step mother and dear friend, Paula; her loving husband, Pedro (Peter) Fermino and her only child, Aya Sandra (Sandy Kelley) Farren; her grandchildren- Jacob, Brenna and Ocean Courser, Phoenix Farren and great grandchildren, Adalyn and Oaklyn Arceneaux; her brothers- Carl Erickson, Mark, Scot, John and Chad Cardeiro; her step children- Gary, Scot, Peter and Dena and their children and many more who loved her.
Dawn was born in Barnstable, MA, and was a true Cape Codder, with sea salt in her hair and sand in her shoes. She attended D/Y Highschool, her and her brothers a close knit crew of their own. Dawn was a blue ribbon horseback rider in her youth, followed by a passion for motorcycles. With her daughter, Sandy, in tow, Dawn led an adventurous life on her terms. Before health complications slowed her down, she enjoyed camping on the beaches of Cape Cod, traveling and tending her vegetable gardens with her husband. Like her mother before her, she held a love for Nature that she's passed down to her own daughter and grandchildren. Dawn’s home in Hyannis was a sanctuary for her, with evidence of the people and culture she loved all around her. May all who loved her find peace in the memory of all of her joys.
A funeral service will be held for Dawn on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 at 2 O’Clock p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable at 3330 Main Street, Barnstable, MA • 02630-0285.
