Thank you for sending this and giving me the opportunity to pay a small tribute to Dawn.  The last time I saw her, she knew her mind was slipping but she still had the sparkle in her eyes and that beautiful smile.  She was trusting her Lord and knew He would be with her as she walked that road.  I admired her strength and courage.  To her family, know that I have prayed through her experience and am praying now that the God of all comfort would comfort you and walk the grief road with you.  May I recommend griefshare?  It's a biblically based grief program.  You can go to their website, griefshare.org, and sign up for an email that will come every day for a year.  They are short snippets of what God says and what others have learned as they went through the heartache of losing someone they dearly loved.  You won't be pestered by them.  The only thing you will receive will be those short helps.  If you're interested in going through their program on grief, that same website will give you the location of a griefshare class near you.  May God give you His peace and sufficient grace.

May the grace of Jesus be with you, Steve, and with your family during this time of loss. Losing a wife and mother is one of the greatest griefs we face on earth, though we know Dawn is in heaven now. There is such joy in the presence of Jesus! But for those who remain behind on earth, that joy is yet to come, with the day of His return. May His peace comfort, strengthen and uphold you in the coming days.

I have beautiful memories of Dawn. I met her and Steve many years ago at Murphy Chapel in Murphy, OR. Steve's parents pastored the church at that time. We loved to hear about Steve and Dawn serving the Yanamami Indians in Brazil. They stayed here in our CA home when they were visiting
cross country. We have kept in touch for many years. Dawn was a very dear, special person that I enjoyed knowing very much.

Steve and Dawn were such faithful servants. Our church, Provolt Community Church, supported them in such a simple way. Our funds were so small, but God used them in a mighty way to help this couple serve our Lord in a remote area. Dawn knew the words to multiple old hymns, and could still sing them, even if it was in her head. She always had a smile, and she was a blessing to us.

Steve and Family, I'm happy for Dawn to be free of all limitations in the presence of the Lord she loved. She will be missed, especially by you. I looked forward to your visits to Prineville. Dawn was such a warm and cheerful person. Even the last time you were there when she knew her mind was not the same, she spoke of it openly with a smile on her face. I pray that the God of all Comfort will bring you the comfort you need. There's comfort in knowing we'll see our loved ones again, but He has a special way of touching our hearts through the grief process. May I recommend the website griefshare.org.
