David's obituary
Our beloved David Lee “Davy” Williams II, age 50, passed away on May 6, 2022, in Truckee, California. Born on September 5, 1971, in Redding, California, raised mostly in Antioch, CA, David lived a life marked by love, service, curiosity, and deep devotion to his loved ones.
David is survived by his adoring wife of 25 years, Dina Williams; his loving mother June Hanson, where he got his smile, faith and joyous outlook on life; and his sister Lisa. He was preceded in death by his father David Williams and by Russell Hanson—the stepfather who raised him—who passed shortly after David on June 25, 2022.
David proudly served his country as a Machinist Mate in the United States Navy during Desert Storm. Stationed aboard the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), awarded many medals including the National Defense Service Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medals for his honorable contributions. His time in the Navy reflected his strong sense of duty, honor, strength and adventurous spirit—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
Following his military service, David pursued a variety of technical roles across several companies that he held in high regard and helped move to Truckee, CA where he resided for almost 20 years. His career culminated at the Nevada County Superior Court, where he worked as a guard where his beloved wife Dina also works. Their partnership extended beyond their home into their professional lives—a testament to their enduring bond over 25 years of marriage.
David was a man of countless interests and dreams. He found joy in the outdoors and was especially fond of fishing and taking road trips. Air shows and planes captivated him, as did his involvement with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets as he shared the experience with his Father Russell. Always eager to learn something new and remain happy later in life, David took up guitar and keyboard and had a lifelong passion for computers and technology—always exploring whatever sparked his imagination.
David was raised in the Church of Christ and remained a devout Christian throughout his life. His faith was a guiding force that shaped his character: happy, kind, strong, loyal, always smiling—even silly most of the time—and deeply loving toward those around him.
David’s smile and joyful soul will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be loved, honored, cherished and remembered until we are reunited with him in Heaven.
David will be laid to rest with his step father Russell and his brothers and sisters at the Sacramento Valley National Ceme
