David attended Mater Dei High School in Evansville, Indiana (class of 1966) and graduated from Lockyear Business College. David soon relocated to Lexington, KY and became one of the youngest managers at General Finance. He retired from Community Trust Bank after nearly 20 years of loyal service and served on the advisory board. David's dedication to his community extended beyond his professional life. He was a long-time member of the Kiwanis Club, where he served as President from 2011 to 2012, and a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass.
David had a range of passions and hobbies. He found solace and creativity in woodworking, drawing, and gardening. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of golfing and the freedom of riding his motorcycle. He was known for his friendly and playful nature, his warm presence brought joy to everyone around him.
For the past decade, David lived a full and vibrant life. He spent much of his time at the Lexington Senior Center, where he cultivated new and existing friendships. David loved the outdoors and stayed active with daily walks at the UK Arboretum or the Fayette Mall when the weather didn’t cooperate. He saw his grandchildren often and cherished every moment he had with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s memory to the Kiwanis Club or Big Brothers Big Sisters, organizations that were close to his heart.
