David's obituary
David Paul Uber, age 72, passed away unexpectedly in his home on April 14, 2026. He was born on December 19, 1953, in Akron, Ohio, to George and Geraldine Uber.
David was a dedicated and hardworking master carpenter who took great pride in his craft. Known for his precision and attention to detail, he approached every project with a perfectionist’s eye and an a level of persistence that was admired by those who knew him. His no-nonsense attitude was balanced by a deep sense of loyalty and care for those he loved.
Beyond his profession, David found joy in working with his hands and being outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking and leatherworking, often creating pieces that reflected both his skill and patience. He also loved camping and bicycling, appreciating the simplicity and peace that came with time spent outside.
Later in life, David made his home in the house that once belonged to his beloved grandparents, Archie and Grace Barzellon. This connection to his family’s past meant a great deal to him. He took pride in caring for the property and found deep satisfaction in making the grounds beautiful, a reflection of both his craftsmanship and his love for the place that held so many memories.
A devoted father, David raised his only daughter, Lauren Ray, as a single parent—an accomplishment that reflected his strength, commitment, and love. He was incredibly proud of Lauren and the life that she's built with the son he never had, David Ray.
David found immense joy in being a grandfather to his two granddaughters, Stephanie (18) and Paige (12). They were a bright light in his life, and he treasured the time spent with them.
He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Brown, who will remember him with love.
He will be remembered for his strength, his skill, and his unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy lives on both through his work and the people he loved.
