David Smith, 47, passed away on March 21, 2026. Born in Decatur, Georgia, he moved to Monticello in 1993. He lived life with a grin that could light up a room, very unique comical facial expressions, and a stubborn streak that kept him going no matter what.

Funny to his core. Yet underneath it all was real kindness. He didn’t say “I love you” much—he showed it.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his daughter, Cali; his son, Evan; his mother, Paula; his father, Michael; his brother, Danny; lots of cousins and a lifelong circle of friends.
