Mr. David "Slim" Ellis, the bravest  we were blessed to know has passed away at the age of 64 after a difficult battle with cancer. David was diagnosed with  cancer  and put on a brave face from the first moment.

David did not let cancer  define him and instead threw himself into his favorite passion for life. He spent hours with his friends fishing, hanging out and enjoying watching old movies. .

David is survived by  his mother Geraldean Ellis,  his father Quention Ellis, his elder sister Chrystal Ellis, his brother Hal Ellis, his younger sister Gayle Ellis, his nieces Ebony Lathan, Melissa Ellis, Chrystal Ellis, Jasmine Ellis, his nephew Hal Ellis, his Uncle Lloyd Ellis, a host of special family friends who looked d after him continually, and special thanks to Beatrice Knox for her support.  He had a host of family members in Chicago, California, and Texas. The list of friends is so long I can not begin to list all of you but you know who you are and you are valued and appreciated.   We also want to acknowledge David’s best friends  Reverand Banks,  Dannie Raye Dixon, Doris White, Stacey Huston.  They stood by him and were incredibly important and supportive of him.
