David Marshall Swarthout, 75 born on May 19, 1949, in Wellsville, New York, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Ward, Arkansas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Dunbar and Lewis Swarthout. He is survived by his wife, Vicky her daughter Brandy; his daughters, Tracy Jasper of Hot Springs and Carrie Jackson-Byrd of Conway; his brothers, Darwin Swarthout, Lewis "JR" Swarthout Jr., and Daniel Dunbar; his sisters, Diane Howell and Cindy Swarthout; and his grandchildren, Blake Wilson of Conway, Jordan Pullen and Morgan Jasper of Elkins, Tanner Flowers, Christian Jackson, of Conway, and Alexis Isaac of Conway, as well as his great-grandchildren, Senia, Dorian, Salem Pullen, and Selah Isaac. He is also survived by countless other friends, extended, and his racing family members who loved him dearly. Dave was a man of many talents and passions. He worked as a skilled mechanic and found joy in the outdoors, especially in hunting, fishing, mudding, and scubadiving. He was also an avid car racing enthusiast and dedicated most of his time to this passion. A former volunteer firefighter in Allentown, New York, Dave was always ready to lend a hand and serve his community. His love for animals was well-known, and his home was always open to furry friends. Dave will be remembered for his big heart, his loyalty to friends and family, and his adventurous spirit. His sense of humor, kindness, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service will be held at a later date where friends and family can gather to celebrate Dave’s life and share their memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal welfare organization of your choice, honoring Dave’s love for animals.
