David (Dave) Sturm, 73, of Boise, Idaho passed away Friday, November 6th, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born in 1947 in La Grande, Oregon to Clifford and Lenora Sturm, and spent most of his childhood in Idaho. He joined the Navy in 1966 as part of the Seabees battalion and served in the Vietnam war. After his service, he worked abroad for an oil company based out of Singapore, on a construction barge as a chief engineer. On a trip to the Philippines in 1981, he met his wife, Daisy (Teresita). For both, it was love at first sight and they were inseparable since. A few years later he brought Daisy back home to Boise, where they raised their five kids and spent many weekends at their cabin in Donnelly. Dave worked for Western Construction as a heavy machine mechanic until he retired in 2012. He had an affinity for building things and wood working, and was always the first person his children called if they needed something fixed. He is survived by his wife, kids, grandkids, and his sister, Linda. He was the perfect husband to his wife, Daisy. The best father to his children Jefrey (Angela), Jennifer (Scott), Jessel (John), Jessica, and Jill (Kirk). His heart and joy were his grandkids Jared, Hailey, Jayden, Jackson, Jagger and Jolene. His family was all he ever wanted in life and they will continue to honor and celebrate his legacy.
