Dutch's obituary
David “Dutch” Van Orden Stuckey
May 13, 1946 – June 5, 2025
David “Dutch” Van Orden Stuckey, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, surrounded by love in Mineola, Texas. Born in Kenton, Ohio, Dutch lived a life shaped by service, commitment, and independence.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of sergeant. After returning home, he continued his dedication to public service as a police officer with the Bowling Green Police Department in Ohio, where he later retired.
A Master Mason of the Blue Lodge, Dutch was a man of integrity, discipline, and loyalty. A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, he was a longtime member of the Choir Boys MC out of Phoenix, Arizona, where he found camaraderie and purpose on the open road. He was also a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan—never missing a game.
Dutch graduated from Western Military Academy in Upper Alton, Illinois, in 1964, after attending Kenton High School. He later studied at Bowling Green State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas William Stuckey and Gertrude Ann (Phillips) Stuckey, formerly of Van Wert and Kenton, Ohio, respectively.
He is survived by his son, Rick Stuckey, and daughter-in-law, Judy Stuckey; his daughter, Christina Stuckey, of Bowling Green, Ohio; his sisters, Marilyn (Stuckey) Connors of Reno, Nevada, and Erna Stuckey of Phoenix, Arizona; and his brother, Daniel Stuckey of Kenton, Ohio. Dutch also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
In addition to his love of motorcycles, Dutch was an enthusiastic cook. He took great pleasure in preparing all kinds of dishes for family and friends, often gathering loved ones around the table with his generous spirit and delicious meals.
In his later years, Dutch enjoyed a quieter life in Mineola, Texas—always ready with a story, a laugh, or a spontaneous ride.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dutch’s memory may be made to a veteran support charity or to the Bowling Green, Ohio Police Department.
His legacy of strength, service, and love for the ride lives on in all who knew and loved him.
Ride on, Dutch.
