David Scott Young, affectionately known as “Scott,” was born on February 7th, 1966, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on February 26th, 2025, at 9:17 PM in Mesa, Arizona.

Scott was a cherished father, son, uncle, brother, and friend who brought so much love and light into our lives. He is survived by his daughter, Kelsy Young; grandson, Seyvonn; and granddaughter, Sevynn, of Fort Worth, Texas. Scott is also survived by his loving family in Arizona, including his mother, Carolyn J. Kelley; sister, Tiffani (Jon) Bourland; niece, Taylor Contreras; and nephews, Cody (Kylie) Bourland and Jon Bourland III. He also leaves behind a plethora of cousins, aunts, and close friends who had a significant impact on his life.

Scott was known for his larger-than-life personality, sense of humor, amazing cooking and barbequing skills, and ability to connect to people from all walks of life. He always loved telling a good story and sharing boisterous laughter with others. His mischievous smile and charisma made anyone love him after meeting him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

An inurnment ceremony and memorial service to celebrate Scott's life will be held on April 18th, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The service is located at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park in Mesa- Address: 400 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206. We invite all who wish to honor Scott to join us in his service.
