Scotty's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Scotty Parsons, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Scotty was born on July 15, 1966, and passed away on March 21, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Eleanor Parsons. He is survived by, and will be forever missed, by his siblings Larry Parsons (Wife Angela), Lori Parsons Wilson, Barbie Parsons Powers (Husband Michael), Rick Parsons and the many nieces and nephews that always had his heart - Noelle Parsons, Anna Parsons Lossau ( Husband Luke, children, Lily and Ren), Kira Parsons Bivans (Husband Jimmy, daughter Blair), Skyler Wilson Garcia-Crabb (Husband Christian, daughter Alexandra), Maddy Powers Boszor (Husband Kyle), Jake Waters, Nicholas Powers , Karley Waters, Mia Parsons, and Marshall Parsons.
Scotty was known for his witty and funny personality, which always made him the life of the party. He was also smart, caring, compassionate, and a natural leader. His vast knowledge and unique life experiences allowed him to share valuable lessons with those around him, most especially in the arena of hunting, fishing and wildlife , not to mention his endless lessons on how to cheat and win at almost any game.
One of Scotty's greatest accomplishments was his work as a conservationist, while also dedicating time to training, mentoring, and educating youth to uphold the values of conservation for generations to come. His passion for game and land management, particularly in East Texas, has left an indelible mark on the state and its conservation efforts.
Scotty earned his Graduate degree and Masters degree in Wildlife Management and Forestry from Stephen F. Austin University, in Nacogdoches, Tx. He went on to earn other credentials, certifications and honors in the field of wildlife, forestry and game and land management. He was seen as an expert in his field in multiple arenas.
Scotty's legacy will be remembered through his conservation work in East Texas and the lasting impact he has had on game and land management throughout Texas and other states.
His heart of gold and unwavering willingness to help those he cared about will also never be forgotten. Scotty was truly one-of-a-kind, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
