David's obituary

We mournfully announce the passing of David Rector, 39, of Kansas City, KS. David passed away on March 03, 2023, after a hard fought battle with depression.

David, born to Laurena Rector and Terry Ruzick, on April 07, 1983, in Kansas City, KS. David attended Warsaw High School and went on to pursue a degree in welding. David’s biggest passion in life was writing. An avid guitar player, he spent countless hours writing music. He also enjoyed writing fictional stories and hoped one day to pursue his dream of writing. When David wasn’t running his small business, he enjoyed planning trips he intended to take one day. He was a huge animal lover and had a soft spot for stray cats.

David is proceeded in death by his father, Terry Ruzick. He is survived by his mother, Laurena Rector, and his siblings, Renae Grogan, Mike Stoner, and Jenn Devers. David had many step-family members as well as honorary family members. David loved and was loved openly with a heart too big for this world. He considered everyone his family, and those ties were cherished by him.

Informal services are being planned, and we will update his memorial website when we have more information.
