Our condolences to the family, Ken and Terry you are great parent and beautiful souls. You guys are loved! 😘
David was such an awesome guy! Through high school, David, Trevor and I were very close. We were always hanging out together at each other’s houses, the movies, church and wherever we could think of. I will never forget all of us riding together in his purple Studebaker. We made so many great memories! He will definitely be missedhere on earth and impacted so many lives.

Dave, you were a gem of a human.  Thank you for always showing up, always. With a smile and something sweet :)  I will miss you. You were loved.
As I looked through pictures of Super last night I realized they were from all over the world - Sri Lanka, Singapore, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Grand Canyon, and of course Springfield(just to name a few!). We shared many adventures together back in the day. It’s so special to hear the countless stories of his thoughtfulness and generosity that he was well known for. He loved his people well. I hope to do the same in honor of him. We love you Super.

Super Dave!!!

He was such a monumental leader in my life and helped to bring out the worship leader I would become. He spared no time, no approvals, no protocols to call me out and identify a gifting I had that was hidden behind my insecurities. He taught me how to walk in my gifting and authority. He showed me how to utilize my gifting for Gods name sake and seek heavenly reward. Over the last 20 years as I’ve acquired a family and now have my children in youth programs I have often prayed that they would have a “Super Dave” youth leader who would help encourage them like he did for me.

This breaks my heart here on earth, but I know, that I know, that I know, this amazing man of valor is rejoicing in the heavens with his savior. That he is hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

Super Dave, thank you for being used by God to impact lives, especially mine.

My prayers are with your family. God bless them and hold them extra close right now.

I remember when David and the Smith’s came to First Assembly in Hobbs back in the mid 80’s. David and I had an instant friendship and he could always make me laugh. I always enjoyed hanging out with him and the Smith family. I will always have fond memories of David and that period of time. Praying for God’s peace on all of you.

I’m so sorry to hear about Super Dave’s passing. I had the privilege of working with him in the SOM program. A wonderful guy, he loved MKs. Hugs to the family!

What can I say about Dave. Dave was such a huge part of my family for so long. He was my friend and when I the unspeakable happened to me, Dave took me under his wind. Made sure I was taken care of. Even though he was in so much pain from his car accident, he always had a smile on his face. I miss his smile! When he planted the church in Santa Monica I was there. He was like a brother to me. When I met my Husband he and Juan became so close. He and my dad officiated our wedding. We have so many great memories with him.  When we moved to Kansas he was definitely missed in our lives. I wish we could have hugged him one more time or heard his voice one more time. Until we meet again, Dave. I know you are living your perfect self in heaven! I love you!!

I first met David when he was around 14 years old.  He was such a cutie and he was very endearing to me and very special!  I am so shocked by his passing but blessed to have known him even though many years have passed!  Praying for all of you during this difficult time!

We loved him like a son !  Will

Always remember his smile, his joking around and positive attitude!  Loved when he’d come to Abq and  call to see if we had room for him!  We’ll miss you David

I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. I did not personally know David, but am a friend of the family and am praying for all of you for God’s comfort and peace. God bless all of you.
Some of my fondest memories as a student at Southwestern were built around David and Daniel and their family. Much love to you all. ❤️
Our sincere prayers go out for all of you. The loss of a child is one of the most devastating events in life. I know you were so proud of David. He was always smiling and bringing joy to those around him.  May God’s peace that surpasses all understanding be yours now and in the months ahead.

When I was sixteen,  I went on a missions trip with my youth group. David went along with us. I hope this isn’t offensive to anyone, but at 16, I was smitten with him at the time lol Anyways, one morning  he talked about how he always woke up with a song on his heart and challenged me to ask God to always put a song on my heart as soon as I woke up. For the remainder of that trip he would ask me each morning and I would be excited to share what song God had put on my heart that day. I’m 42 now, and I STILL wake up in the mornings with a song on my heart, which I get up and play on my phone while I’m getting ready. That may sound cheesy to some, but it’s stuck with me all these years. It’s a great way to start each day, especially on tough days. Until we meet again…
