Personal note from Sandra Ramirez

To my father who was the definition of the American dream. Came to this country thirty some years ago. Since I can remember my father has had an incredible work ethic. He rarely complained or even mentioned how tired he was. My mother and him worked very hard to provide us with a good home. They both are prime examples of determination and perseverance. Coming to a different country, knowing no one but doing what they could for their family. Regardless of their obstacles, I will always remember my dad's laughter and insane sense of humor. Nothing ever brought him down or made him doubt himself. He believed in me and all my sisters to be the best versions of ourselves. It was never too late to do anything. He believed anything was possible if you set your mind to it. He was considerate and generous. His love was like no other. I admired how great he was with my mother. He was kind, patience and respectful. My father was one in a million. I spoke of my father fondly and will always. My father raised five daughters to be strong, independent and kind. I will miss my father's love more than anything else. His love you felt when he walked into a room. His smile and the funny faces he made randomly. My father loved hard and I will never forget that. I choose today, to continue to live that way he wanted me too. I regret very few things but the time we didn't get to share together. I loved my father greatly and I hope he knew that. I hope he knew how thankful I was, of him helping me raise my daughter. I recall referring to her as "your daughter". At times, I was not fond him babying her but now I am glad he did. She will always remember how good her daddy was to her. I didn't say goodbye to my father minutes before his heart stopped. He got the chance (I hope) to hear our voices before he left us. We told him how much he was loved and how much we still needed him. I know I will always need and want my father. He is irreplaceable.

I love you, daddy. You were everything good in this world. Till we meet again, my love.
