David's obituary

David Rudolph James Dec 5, 1947 – Dec 25, 2023

David Rudolph James age 76 went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Christmas day 2023.

He was the only son of Harold Rudolph James and Maria Elena Cardenas.

He is survived by his daughter Jacquelyn James and his niece / 2nd daughter Michelle Coursey, as well as niece Danielle James and nephew Gary Proctor. Sister Gloria James. His older sister Linda Burns has passed but David has remained very close to her husband Michael Burns and many many wonderful family members in San Antonio, Tx. Great nephews; Grant Clark, Alfred Clark and Gabriel Clark.

Best friends Phil and Kathi Hatchette have been very important in his life for many years. As well, their son, Jarred Hatchette spending time and learning from David his love of outdoors. Kathi has many jewels in her crown for all the help and patience she has provided as David fought the disease of hemochromatosis.

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed all forms of hunting, shooting and gunmanship and got great joy sharing with and teaching these young men in his life.

David got immense spiritual fulfillment from spending time outdoors and often said,

"The woods are my church"

In addition to hunting, he excelled at horsemanship and trail riding and had great friendships through these activities. He loved many horses, dogs and cats throughout his life.

David was a deeply spiritual man who wrote poetry and enjoyed intense conversations about spiritual truths and his love of Jesus with those close to him.

David began a successful swimming pool service company -James Service Company -in Dallas around 1970 which included a partnership with his great friend Bill Perkins. One of the important young men in his life Dustin Phipps will continue the pool service through his company.
