David Proud passed away on July 9, 2020 at his home in Auburn Washington. He died at age 34 from organ failure. He was with his mother Pam, father Larry, brothers John, Jeff and Jeremy and sister Emily at the time of his death.
David was born May 18, 1986. David graduated from Auburn Riverside High School in 2004. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009 from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. David was an accomplished soccer player. He played club soccer with numerous teams in the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, Auburn Riverside High School, Green River and Highline Community Colleges, and Concordia University. He played on teams at all levels that competed in state and national championships. After graduation David worked as a property manager in Madison, WI. and the Puget Sound. At the same time, he was coaching youth soccer teams and giving personal training lessons. He was respected and loved by his teammates and players. He was an avid fan of the Seattle Sounders, US Men’s National Team and Newcastle United Football Club in the English Premier League.
David was known to light up a room with his humor and charismatic personality. He loved to banter with people and could always bring a smile to someone’s face. He was loved by so many near and far. He lived by the motto: “If you can’t change the cards you’re dealt, change how you play your hand”. Special thanks to the University of Wisconsin Medical Center, University of Washington Hospital and Providence Hospital Hospice Services for the care they provided David.
