David's obituary
In his early adult years Dave, who was born in Windsor, Ontario, would move to and call Vancouver Island, British Columbia his forever home. He had a great love of the outdoors and especially loved to fish.
Dave is now at rest with his predeceased family and friends, including his wife, Colleen; his mother, Louise; and his father, Morris. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal, Courtney, Ryan and Tom; his grandsons, Dylan, Brice and Jackson; his brothers, Thomas and Walter; his best friend, Darrin; and his nieces and nephews.
I leave you with a poem, chosen by Dave, for his daughters; to be read by them after he had passed. Even though it was addressed to his daughters, I believe his chosen poem is for all his family and friends.
Don’t think of me as gone away
My journey’s just begun,
Life holds so many faucets
This earth is only one.
Just think of me as resting
From the sorrow and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how I must be wishing
That you could know today,
How nothing but your sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of me as living
In the hearts of yours I touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost,
Because I love you both so much.
