One of the memories that I can look back on and still chuckle is our fishing trips. We were camping in Upper Michigan and Dave took me out fishing while Aunt Debby stayed at the campsite with the girls. We went all around the lake when he wasn't baiting my hook or getting my line out from the shore line he tried to fish. It was an hour or two and I could see he was not having fun. He decided to take the boat to the middle of the lake. He fixed my fishing line and told me there is no way I would get in any trouble there. He turned and began to fish. I cast my line and I sat quietly. He turned to me and said where is your line? I looked at him and pointed up. It had some how went over a low hanging power line and my little minnow was swinging back and forth! He said that's it you are going back to the campsite! He sure loved fishing and tried his best to teach us all how to fish.
I remember when I was leaving the next day to go to the airport, Dave wanted some home made donuts. I made him a triple batch and bt the time I was finally done, it was time to go to the airport. I stayed up all night making donuts, and there was a whole counter full ! My how time flied, I never got to go to sleep. And Dave never thought he would have so many donuts to eat , he didn't think I would do it just for him. Now I very rarely eat a donut !
