Background
From his son, David Pangborn:
On September 9th around 9pm my father David Arlen Pangborn Jr. passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He had been fighting lung cancer for the past year and a half. My father was a hard worker who took a lot of pride in his work and loved his family dearly. We had a goodbye party for him 2 weeks ago so he could see family and friends once more. I am extremely proud of my father for who he was, obstacles he had overcome and for always being there for his family.
I love you, Dad
From his son, Jason Pangborn:
2 weeks ago we celebrated “Dave’s Day” a goodbye party for my father, David Pangborn.
His health was declining and we knew there wouldn’t be much more time. He wanted a last chance to see and say goodbye to friends and family.
He passed Tuesday night after having most of his family with him for the evening
From his daughter Kimberly Olson:
On September 9th @ 9:00 pm, my Father, David A. Pangborn, Jr. went home to heaven into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. My Dad was a family man, hardworking, loving, smart and reliable. He was surrounded by his wife, children and most of his grandchildren when he peacefully passed away Tuesday night after a 16 month battle with aggressive lung cancer at home. Dad was the loving husband to my Mother, Kathy of 50 years, proud Father to his 4 children, and even prouder Pop Pop to his 13 grandchildren and Great Granddaughter. May there be no more suffering, may there be no more pain, and may you breathe easily and freely Dad. You are already missed more than words can express. We all love you dearly and we know we will see you again one day waiting for us at the gates to enter heaven. May you rest in peace Daddy. I will always be your little princess.
From his son, Dustin Pangborn:
Man oh man, where do I start. Dad, I Love You. Earlier this week, 9/9/25 my dad, David Pangborn Jr passed away due to complications related to Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
As a close knit family, we embraced this battle together when he was diagnosed. For the last 16 months or so he gave it his all for his family. The ones who he always got up and went to work to provide for. The ones who told him, he wasn’t alone in this battle to survive. We saw him give up smoking, endure chemo followed up with radiation treatments. The man gave it his all. I say again, I Love You, Dad!
If you asked me to give you one trait I got from him, there is many, I’d have to say patience. I’ve learned over the years, I have more patience than most. I would most definitely attribute that to him. Stern, maybe rough around the edges at times but a voice of reason and support when you needed it. I Love You, Dad!
He and I are so much alike it’s scary. Manuerism for sure! Let’s not even get into sleeping habits, Lol. Before he passed that evening, I was laying back in the bedroom with him. He was very out of it yet I found we both had our right arms up supporting our heads. I commented to Tina and the kids as I was laying there next to him. They chuckled and agreed, we looked the same. Of course I could go on and on with the similarities we share but I won’t. I want to think about them myself the next time I build that cabinet or paint that room. Because he was the hardest working person I knew growing up. I Love You, Dad.
So Facebook world, just know, the earth lost a good one this week. But Heaven just welcomed on heck of a carpenter.
Until we meet again.
I Love You, Dad.
