David Michael Owens, 34, peacefully departed this earth on August 17, 2025, in Springfield, MA at Baystate Hospital.

David was born at the former Providence Hospital in Holyoke, MA on November 20, 1990, to his mother Teresa Owens-Bouthiller and his father, who preceded him in death, Daryl S. Akers. David is the second oldest of four children to his mother and one of two children to his father. David was educated in the Massachusetts Education System and graduated from Westover Job Corps in Chicopee, MA with a specialty in Culinary Arts. He worked in various establishments here in Western Mass as a Chef and Short Order Cook. David loved music, the beach, cooking, and anime. David was a single guy that loved with his whole heart. He was a devoted person, always having fun, laughing, and spending time with family and friends.

David leaves to cherish his memory his brothers: Deveron Owens (Jacob) and Devin Martin. His sisters: Nyssa Martin (Jordan) and Corra Akers. His Mother, Teresa Owens-Bouthillier. His Grandparents, Mary and Louie Owens Sr. His Aunts, Zorana Owens-Imbody (Mark), Leola Akers, Pamela Bennifield, Ingrid Akers and Sonya Akers. His Uncles Louie Owens Jr. (Tosha Jones), Larry Akers (Mary) and Christian Bigelow. David also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Josias, Jaz’ion, Kehlani, Lalanna, Jalin and Kyzha. He also leaves behind a host of other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, relatives, and friends but his most memorable ones are Jocalyn Imbody, Samantha Owens and William C. Brown.
