David's obituary

David Michael Johnson Sr. was born in Oakland, California, to Bernice Hall and Spencer Johnson. After the untimely passing of his parents during his youth, he was lovingly adopted by his sister-in-law, Trinell Johnson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Spencer Johnson and Robert Johnson.

David spent his life in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, dedicating nearly five decades to his work as an armed security guard for both government agencies and casinos. He recently retired, but he was a very dedicated and hard working man often working two jobs at a time.

A devoted father, husband, uncle, and friend, David was known for his infectious sense of humor and unwavering kindness. He had a passion for fishing, playing video games, shopping, and sports. A proud and loyal 49ers fan, he was often seen sporting scarlet red and metallic gold from head to toe. He also had a deep love for the Lakers, the San Francisco Giants, and his cherished collection of Invicta watches.

David’s love extended to his dogs, Oreo, MJ, and Phoebe, who were his faithful companions. His daughter thinks he loves those dogs more than her. With affectionate yet teasing intent, he would refer to them as her siblings. His playful nature will be forever remembered and deeply cherished.

He is survived by his wife, Laquita Pittman Johnson; his children, Monica Johnson-Knox and David Johnson Jr. and Dwight Johnson. He is also survived by his nephew Spencer Johnson, niece Candy Jefferson, and nephews Nigel Gilson and Johnathan Pittman. David was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one great-granddaughter.

David will be remembered as a kind, loving, and humorous man whose presence brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever celebrated.

Though David is no longer with us, his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
