>David Ronnie McCauley, 67, of Marion, North Carolina passed peacefully on October 14, 2024, in Marion North Carolina. Born on April 22, 1957, David spent his early years in Augusta Georgia before moving to Florida, where he developed a deep love for the ocean As a young man, he worked on shrimp and fishing boats and enjoyed fishing along the coast. He later settled in Daytona Beach Florida, where he enjoyed attending NASCAR races and had the memorable experience meeting “The Intimidator” Dale Earnhardt. David was a painter by trade profession, he took great pride in his work reflected both his skill and dedication. In later years, he found solace in the mountains of North Carolina, embracing the peace and beauty of nature. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and mining for rocks and gemstones. Known for his kind Christian spirit and generous heart, David brought joy and laughter to those around him. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His love for animals was evident in the bond he shared with his beloved dog Pee Wee.
David is survived by his partner Penny Davis, his brothers Paul R. McCauley (Linda), Thomas B. McCauley, John A. McCauley (Kelli) sister Cynthia M. Shawver (Steve)twelve nieces and nephews, eighteen great nieces and nephews, David was preceded in death by his father Thomas B. McCauley Sr, mother Talatha S. McCauley, sister-in-law Patricia H. McCauley
David’s adventurous spirit and warm heart will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
