I first met David when I joined the BOE in 1986. I was just out of college and was starting my first professional career. When I first met David, he was impeccably dressed and carried himself with such confidence. As we got to know one another, David quickly took on the role of an older brother/ mentor. We were able to talk about anything and everything. He imparted his knowledge, wisdom and life experiences willingly.   It was through this friendship we developed at the BOE, that he guided me towards my legal career.  He was the driving force, that little voice in my ear, telling me to go get that degree.  I can truly say that without David's encouragement I don't know where I'd be or what I would be doing today.   

After leaving the BOE, David and I stayed in touched.  We would often get together and catch up on life or get together and go to the car show, we both loved cars and were always previewing the new models.    

David had a tremendous impact on my life and knowing the person he was, I know he touched the lives of other in similar ways. 

My condolences to the entire Maxwell family. 

I will forever remember David and the impact he made on my life.  It is something that I will never forget.  David was like the big brother I never had, always looking out for me and providing me with guidance on life by sharing his knowledge, wisdom and life experiences.  David will forever live on in my heart and in my memories.

In the dictionary next to the phrase "class act" should be a picture of David. Fine man, great friend, a real gentleman. He will be missed.
