David Dale Legan, born on October 8, 1988, in Salem, Oregon, passed away on August 31, 2024. David was a devoted father to his son, Michael, who was born in 2014, and he cherished every moment spent with him. Known for his loving, thoughtful, and caring nature, David had a profound impact on the lives of those around him, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
A passionate fisherman, David found joy in spending time outdoors and enjoyed collecting coins and sports cards. He had a particular fondness for pizza, BBQ, and home-cooked meals, often sharing these culinary delights with his family and friends. David was an avid football fan and had a soft spot for classic TV shows such as M*A*S*H, The A-Team, and The Andy Griffith Show. His favorite band was Nickelback, whose music often provided a soundtrack to his life.
David worked for Americold, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He lived by the motto, "Be a leader, not a follower," which reflected his approach to both life and fatherhood. One of his proudest achievements was becoming a father to Michael, a role he embraced wholeheartedly.
David is survived by his son, Michael Legan; his sister, Cheryl Legan; his uncles, Bob Frank-Plumlee and Dennis Legan and his Goemaere family of cousins: David, Jerry, April and especially Chris, with whom he was very close. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered not only for his kindness and generosity but also for the warmth he brought to every gathering. David loved being at the coast, where he found peace and happiness, and his legacy will continue to live on through the memories he created and the love he shared.
