Obituary for David Lynn Horgrow
David Lynn Horgrow, 57, of Ypsilanti, Michigan passed away on January 27, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on October 11, 1968 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, David lived a life true to himself, filled with passion and purpose.
He is survived by his wife of over 33 years, Glenette Horgrow; children, Olivia Whitley, David Layne Horgrow, Quinton Horgrow; mother, Myrtis Horgrow; sisters, Dena Ulmer, Barbara Horgrow, Elise Walter; brothers, Michael Ulmer, Wendell Ulmer, and many loved ones. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecily Horgrow; father, Robert Horgrow; brothers, Edward Horgrow, Carl Ulmer; and sister, Carol Morant.
David was a devoted husband and father, centering his life around his family. He was a skilled carpenter and building inspector, taking pride in his workmanship. David loved golf, fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He had a natural ability to build, fix, and understand how things worked, and he was always willing to share his knowledge with others.
One of David’s greatest joys was to teach children the fundamentals of sports and life skills. He also encouraged young fathers to take more active roles in their children's lives. He wanted to inspire younger generations in reaching their full potential and provided guidance and responsibility infused with affection and attentiveness. His love was constant and expressed through his actions daily.
David’s charisma, kindness, humor, and authenticity had a way of drawing people and leaving a lasting impression. His life was not measured by wealth or entitlement, but by the way he carried himself and his treatment of others. His existence was and remains a blessing to all who knew him.
To celebrate the life of David, a gathering will be held on the date of his anniversary of marriage, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Regent Hotel and Suites, 2455 Carpenter Rd., Ann Arbor, MI. Family and friends are invited to share stories and memories and to honor a life well lived.
