Dave Happy birthday in Heaven. You are missed everyday. You have Gayle there with you now to celebrate. We will be there one day to rejoice with you.

My brother David was born with a strong sense of responsibility that manifested in his family & friends from his youth. He found work in the local store at the age of 10 making deliveries, and gave his earnings to his single mom to help sustain the family & did that for about 4 years until his mom remarried & we moved across the mountains.

We were preachers kids & rebellious, but we knew of our Creator & Savior. David became a firefighter & EMT as an adult, continuing to help others. After retiring from the fire department, he worked at Boeing his remaining career.  David had a very strong sense of right & wrong & justice and he walked in those values every day of his life. He was loyal & devoted to his beloved wife, Gayle, & his children & granddaughter.

The family is thankful that David had the time to reconnect with God in a deeper measure before his transition to Heaven. His celebration service after his passing  centered on that reconnection with God, the Source of who David was on this earth—who God created. A man of truth, honor, devotion, helper, understanding, justice, & humor; a man not to be forgotten who left an imprint on the lives of the people he touched. You are forever remembered my dear brother.

Your younger sister Joy Belle

David was my older brother. He taught me to ride my trike, a bike, to roller skate, and how to be careful as I walked alone to the local swimming pool. He was my protector all of my growing up years. He chewed me out whenever I got into a stupid mess in life—giving me wise advice. He protected me from bullying in my teens, to the point of hanging the Fire Marshall’s son on a hook at the Summit Fire Station for spreading lies about me in High School! He was a no nonsense highly principled brother always! I’m happy that he is no longer suffering, but I will miss him with all my being. Even at death’s door he was full of “life”, alert, responsive to our presence, and uncomplaining; accepting of “his time!” I love you my brother! You did good here with all of us. God created you a man of excellence! Thank You Father God for my brother! I’ll see you later bro! Bye for now. Your “seester” Joy Belle

Dave enjoyed making and eating great food and keeping up with the important people in his life. He told great stories and was very proud of the time he spent serving others in their times of distress with the fire department. It meant a lot to him to belong to an effective and well trained team. He also really enjoyed bringing his car to life and showing it with the best of special cars! He also loved Gayle with his whole heart and was so happy she was getting stronger and healthier last Fall. He also beamed with pride as granddaughter Lana pursued life’s milestones. Thanks Dave for your friendship and kindness. I’ll miss you.
Dave you was always in a good mood. He loved to laugh and joke when I was there. He loved his family and friends. Getting him to talk about cooking or cars or the fire department was usually going to be a long conversation. :) He is probably cooking up some shenanagin in heaven now. I will see him again. He is and was much loved by me and many others.
