Background
Dave did not have any retirement from his 19 year employment with air tankers, a contracted business. Between surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, pharmacy bills, ER doctors, ambulances, we experienced "financial toxicity". I am disabled and have been on Social Security Disability for numerous years. Dave has accrued so many medical bills, even paying them off with minimum monthly installments of $25, adds up quickly and out of my budget. Although I was married for 14 years at the time of my first husband's death, I did not receive "survivor benefits" from Social Security because I'm not allowed to draw two benefits at the same time and my first husband was on retirement. The same thing has happened with Dave. I will receive no survivor benefits and I have lost three-quarters of my monthly income. It was Dave's final wishes that he have a Celebration of Life instead of a funeral. I would like to honor his memory and his many accomplishments in life but would need financial contributions in order to organize such an event. Thank you for your generosity and support. I wish I didn't have to ask but it is something Dave is quite deserving of.
