David J. Gilchrist, 73 of Mount Vernon, surrounded by family went to be with the Lord and Savior, on June 21st, 2018. He was born February 11th, 1945 in Wenatchee WA, one of five children to John and Martha Gilchrist.

David was a 1963 graduate from Burlington-Edison High School. He made many friends throughout school and those friendships lasted to the very end. He enjoyed exploring new places and traveling. And of course he made new friends along the way. He honestly did not know a stranger and was loved by many.

David is survived by his children David Gilchrist Jr. and Denise (Jerry) Lawerence, his sisters Bonnie Taylor, Sandra (Glenn) Webster, brother Bob Gilchrist, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Martha Gilchrist and sister Carol E. Berrey.

David loved his family and friends but most of all was proud of his children.

A celebration will occur on Sunday July 1st, 2018 at the Eagles Club in Burlington.
