David's obituary
David Ellsworth “Dave” Holden departed his earthly body peacefully at home on 09/18/22. He is at last reunited with his beloved wife of 47 years, Nanette Kay Holden, in the Kingdom of Heaven.
David and his twin brother Donald were born to Ellsworth Jr and Jeanette Holden, on October 13,1952, in Cincinnati. At the age of 15 he found the Lord and was informally known for shepherding many friends and family to the Christian faith. In those early years he found joy in playing drums for his band “Dave and the Cruisers” and attending church youth functions. It was at one of these events that he met his wife Nanette “Nan” Timmons. They were joined in marriage on October 19,1970 and they had two daughters, Gina and Bethany. David enlisted in the United States Air force in August of 1972, and his wife became a singer for the USO. He served one tour of duty as an airline mechanic during the Vietnam Campaign. He and his wife were stationed in Thailand for 2 years, and multiple other bases across the US. In 1976 he won a car on “The Price Is Right”. He loaded his family in that silver Chevy Nova, and brought them back to his Cincinnati home, after his honorable discharge from the US Air Force. He went on to earn degrees in accounting and electronics. He worked at GE for 15 years as an airplane engine test controller. Subsequently, he worked in logistics until his retirement at age 62. He loved the Lord, his family and thoroughbred horse racing, in that order.
David was the beloved husband of the late Nanette “Nan” Holden, son of the late Ellsworth Jr and Jeanette Holden and twin brother of the late Donald Holden. Loving father of Gina (Lee) Denney and Bethany (Donnie) Gaddis. Adored grandfather of Devin, Dominic (Katlin), Dawson, Donathan (Alyssa), Darien and Kenya. Great-grandfather of Skylee, Aizlee, Keagan, Donathan II, Skylynn, Dayona and Daxtin. Brother of Dan (Madeline) Holden, Debbie (Clyde) Morgan, Denise (Curt) Beaty and Daryl (Susan) Holden. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The daughters of David would like to invite all family and friends to join:

Please stop in, grab a bite to eat and share your favorite stories about our dad.
Our father cherished the human spirit far more than any material thing. In lieu of flowers and donations, we would ask that everyone go into the world and perform a random act of kindness in his memory.
