David Scott "Spike" Edwards, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Rising Sun, Maryland. Born on July 7, 1939, in the United States, Dave lived a full and vibrant life marked by his deep love for family, his generous spirit, and his passion for the simple joys that brought people together. Known affectionately as "Spike" to many who knew him, he was a man whose presence lit up every room and whose kindness. left a lasting impression on all he met.

Dave is survived by his three children: Marie Edwards Brown (Mike), Sherry Day (Jimmy), and Scott Edwards (Michelle). He was a proud grandfather to Shane Foster (Christine), Roger Edwards Ir. (Tootie), Matthew Edwards (Brittany), Amber Joyce (Hufford), Bethany Sexton (Colton), Dustin Edwards, and Devon Edwards. He also leaves behind his beloved sister Marie Gergeni. His extended family includes numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren who were blessed to have been loved by him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwyn and Eunice Edwards; several brothers; and more recently two cherished grandchildren, Shannon Foster and Dylan Edwards. Dave's family roots stretch far and wide -from Maryland to Texas and everywhere in between-reflecting the breadth of the connections he nurtured throughout his life. Dave had a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He loved hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan. He found joy in entertaining others, sharing meals with loved ones, and simply being surrounded by family. His outgoing nature made him a friend to many; he never met a stranger and always took time to ask about others' lives with genuine interest. Whether lending a helping hand or offering a warm smile, Dave's compassion touched countless lives. His life was one of generosity, laughter, and unwavering love-a life well lived. Dave will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness in the hearts of many. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2025 from 02:00 PM to 06:00 PM at the American Legion in Rising Sun at 338 East Maint Street Rising Sun Md, 21911. A private burial will be held at a later date .
