David was a great manager to work under when I worked at 1689. He was open to the ideas I had to try and help improve multiple departments. We shared support of veterans and often talked about family members who served in the military. You are forever in my memory and meant a lot for the time we worked together. Thank you for your kindness and devotion to the store. Say hello to my dad for me.

I was [ how you felt ] when I heard the news of David's passing. I was very stunned of hearing : the passing of our store manager David! I didn't spend much time : getting to know David! but I so very appreciated his lighthearted personality! David made you feel that you could approach him and talk about any concerns and problems: that you were facing! David as our store manager was firm but honestly fair in his leadership at Walmart store 1689 Love you David and David's family

David was a great person, and I truly valued the time we worked together. He was always willing to help and gave more than was asked. I was able to have good conversations with him about work and family. My favorite conversations were about his daughter because his face would light up every time. I was raised by a single father and cherish that bond between father and daughter. I send love and condolences to his family and friends and look forward to honoring this inspiring leader and wonderful father.

David always made time for his associates.  He was open, friendly had a great sense of humor.  He would always ask how you were doing.  He was the best store manager I ever worked with.    I miss his infectious smile.  Rest in Peace David.  You will be missed 😢 💔

My thoughts about Store Manager David De mayo

Associate Mae

April 11, 2024

David would always greet his customers with a good morning. He had a very novel approach as our store manager. He would always say to us, Be Better. He was always out and about taking care of his notes and procedures for the day. He was always working; If he saw a feature that wasn't there the day before he would ask if it was flexed to a location. He was very observant. If items on an endcap were changed for different items to increase customer visibility, he wanted to make sure the merchandise that needed to be priced had the correct price tag and signage.

When it came to his customers and associates, David was just as focused. Store Manager David had a professional working relationship with Store Lead Kim; she was his right hand followed by the coaches and team leads. He was always going on about the chain of command to get the customers' concerns and associate questions to the right person. He also had time for short conversations and small jokes as well. He was a very down to earth man. When David would ask an associate to do a task, he would always say thank you to us. He was always concerned about potentially unsafe situations. David's appreciation for his associates shows that he loved all of us as his Walmart family.

I believe that David was chosen as our store manager because he had the same humbleness as the David in the Bible. Store Manager David was what I picture when I think of a shepherd and a shepherd protects and directs their flocks. For example, in the Bible, God saw that the David in the bible had a good heart and was humble. He knew that David could shepherd His people, so he made him king over Israel. I believe that our store manager was chosen for the same reason: That he would be a good shepherd over us, It was also mentioned in the Bible that David was tall and very handsome. Doesn't that sound like our David? I'm sure Manager David's wife, Angel, can testify to that.

Better".

Associate Minister Mae

I am eternally grateful that I was able to come to know David. At my internship, I was able to work closely with David. Last week, I was wondering how my old Walmart family was doing & opening Facebook to see this post took me by shock. I immediately thought of his daughter that he always spoke so highly and dearly about. I thought about his family. My prayers and condolences are forever with you all. David was such a great, loving and admirable man.  He is truly gone too soon.
I was so sorry to hear about David. He was a great man.  He always had a smile and How's it going for you.  He will be very missed.  One of the best managers I have encountered at Walmart.
My thoughts and prayers go out to David's family. He was the best leader and mentor I had the pleasure of getting to know and work with. RIP David you will be forever in our hearts.
Heaven gained angel, my deepest condolences to the family. May God strengthen you in the horrible time. David was great person and manager I was blessed to have worked with him and will remember him always.

David was a giant amongst men. Always one ready to have fun and experience adventure at a moments notice. A loving father, husband, son and brother. Always looking out for others before himself. A man that worked very hard and also lived, laughed and loved very hard.

From his family at home to his Wal-Mart family. David never knew hard work. What he did know was to lead from the front and work hard to achieve success by giving his all. A real work, play hard guy. I was blessed to know him for many, many years. David came into our lives after sweeping my sister Angel off of her feet and let me tell you that was no easy feat. They created a life of hard work and fun. They each brought a daughter into their relationship, Carrington and Kambree. These two ladies plus the many teammates will be his lasting legacy.

From the Thomas Gallegos family, we send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. #HailToTheVictors
