David 'Dave''s obituary

In Loving Memory of David “Dave” Ernest Stuckey

January 10, 1955 – February 11, 2024

Born to rock and live free, Dave left us on February 11th, 2024, but his spirit will forever echo in the music, the ride, and the memories he shared with us all.

He was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota, Dave Stuckey lived with a fearless heart and a deep, steady kindness that defined everything he did. A skilled electrician by trade, Dave had to step back from his career in his 30s due to an injury, but he never lost his spark.

A true rocker, Dave played the drums—and the harmonica—with passion, spending most of his middle years in a band surrounded by the classic rock music he loved. He could’ve gone pro as a skier, but the road called to him more. A biker through and through, Dave found freedom riding his Harley through the Black Hills and on trips to the Daytona rally. His spirit was wild, but his heart was tender.

He was a sensitive soul—funny, self-deprecating, and always quick with a joke or a silly grin. Dave would drop anything to help his wife, kids and grandkids, no matter what. His love for his family was unwavering and quiet, expressed in the everyday things that made him so deeply cherished.

He is survived by his wife Michele Georgette Stuckey, sons Adrian Stuckey and Calvin Stuckey, daughters Angela Rose and Sara Zapp, and grandchildren Adrianna Stuckey, Haley Stuckey, Elias Stuckey, and Ella Stuckey. He is also survived by his brothers Dan Stuckey and Larry Kincaid.

A celebration of life will be held on May 31, 2025, at Canyon Lake Park in Rapid City at 2:00 PM.

We invite all who knew and loved Dave to join us in remembering the man who was full of love, kindness, and a great sense of humor. Come as you are—no need for fancy clothes, just come ready to share stories and memories of Dave.

'Long live Rock 'n' Roll, the music of the people, and the music of the night!'
