David Graham Crooks, 93, died on August 12 in Tucson, Arizona, following a period of declining health. He was born in Paterson, N.J., on October 20, 1929, to Archer Duryee Crooks and Rebecca Pearse Easterbrook Crooks. His mother died when he was seven. Two years later, his father married Helen M. Flowers, who helped raise Dave and his younger brother Jim. Two sisters, Betty and Marian eventually joined the family.
