David's obituary
On the morning of Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, David “Dave” Charles Morgan passed away with honor, dignity and strength following a battle with cancer. He was 67 years old.
Dave was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Moira Boyd and David Morgan Sr. in November 1955, although it turned out that he was “one man” with “two countries” in his heart, as his career with Nestle brought him and his immediate family to Los Angeles in 2001, before settling in the St. Louis area in 2005.
Aside from being the world’s greatest “Doggy-Daddy” to his daughters, he was passionate about sports - playing, coaching and watching, especially hockey, softball, golf and college football. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Sooners, and he loved it when a Canadian was on the PGA leaderboard. He spent his free time coaching his daughter’s hockey and softball teams, and was President of the Orangeville Girls Hockey Association for several years, bringing access to and passion for hockey to an entire community. Those who knew him best knew that Dave was truly happy when he was staying busy and staying in charge.
He is preceded in death by his father, David, and his mother, Moira. He is survived by his two daughters, Nicole Lenau (Curt) and Kelsey Morgan-Paulick (RJ), his grandson Jaden Paulick, mother of his children, Margie, his brothers Rod (Deb) and Wayne (Diana), his sister Liz (Don), and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and lifelong friends that he loved.
In line with Dave’s wishes, Celebrations of Life will be held in both St. Louis and the Greater Toronto Area in the Fall. As these gatherings are arranged, details will be shared via social media. Until then, please know that Dave’s final days were full of memories of friends and family, and he wanted to say to all of you, “Thank you for being my friend.”
