David's obituary
He was a good soul and always stood up for anyone who needed help or support. He lost his way a long time before this happened and just couldn't find his way back..but he tried and tried. The answer he looked for was just always slightly out of reach.
I know he felt that he let his family down and the shame and disappointment in himself that he felt most likely stopped him from actively seeking help. He would always deny.
Those he left behind cry every day for just one more talk, one more laugh..one more hug.
He leaves behind his Mother, Pia; his Father, Wayne and his younger brother, Ryan. He also leaves his 2 boys; Kai and Atli. The boys were always in his thoughts and he spoke fondly and many times of them in his final days. No more worries, son. No more pain, no more struggles.
Precious time on Earth: 43 years, 7 months, 24 days, 3 hours, 40 minutes.
Rest in peace, David.
Your boys, mom, Ryan and I love you and miss you so much.

David was placed on an Oxycodone program while in Kelowna General Hospital in the very early 2000's. As we now know, it is next to impossible to escape from the addiction that comes with this opioid. He, and those around him could not grasp the in-explainable effects that this drug brings. Doctors finally realized the damage this drug was bringing and stopped his prescription to it, but not his addiction. He turned to street drugs to ease the pain...which ultimately took his life.
He was a brilliant Computer Programmer with a great career ahead of him..stolen by the greed of Purdue Pharma. We understand now..but alas too late. All is well, son. I am your voice now. We stand by you..not your fault...Love you, son.
