David's obituary
David worked in auto body repair at S&N Body Repair in Quincy, Illinois and other body shops in the surrounding Quincy area. In later years he owned and operated Burkett Small Engine repair shop in Gonzales, Louisiana.
He is survived by his former wife Glenette Martin Castle, his five children, Michael (Sheila) Burkett of Katy, Texas; Gregory (Tina) Burkett of Prairieville, Louisiana; David (Sarah) Burkett of Quincy, Illinois; Glenden Burkett of Liberty, Illinois; and Shawn Burkett of Quincy, Illinois. Seven grandchildren; Alex, Amanda, Lauren, Kyler, Justice, Payton and Bella. One brother, Charlie Burkett of Quincy, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Greta. Two brothers, Bob Burkett and Tim Burkett and two sisters Nancy Platt and Sue Mendenhall.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
