David's obituary
A fierce life, a generous heart, a lasting mark
David Gerard Breaux was born on December 19th, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Eugene and Dolores Breaux. He passed away on October 2nd, 2025, in Manassas, Virginia at the age of 58, although he squeezed more life into those 58 years than most of us would be able to in a century.
David attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans—a private, Catholic college-preparatory school ran by the Society of Jesus. So obviously, the perfect place for a young David Breaux (who remained a true hellion through and through). Before he could legally purchase a pack of cigarettes, he dropped out and joined the Marine Corps with his mother’s written consent. He would spend the next chapter of his life fighting in Desert Storm and traveling to faraway lands; Japan, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, and Kuwait to name a few. While serving his country, he attained the rank of Sergeant and earned a total of 10 commendations, pistol and rifle expert being his favorite among them. His love of electronics then led him to the world of IT where he worked for many years.
David enjoyed spending time with his family whenever possible, especially his granddaughter, Leah (or little ass-kicker, if you asked him). Those of us lucky enough to truly know David saw a side of him that the vast majority never did. If he considered you friend or family, he would move heaven and earth for you at a moment’s notice, often with no questions asked. It pains us all to have lost David so soon, but he wouldn’t want us sad and dejected. He’d want us to reflect on the good times that we had with him and to hold onto those memories so his spirit can live on with us. He’s with Randa now, smoking a bowl while Pookie begs for pizza. His own personal version of heaven.
David is survived by his son, Gerard Breaux; his daughter, Tamekia Bordeaux; his daughter-in-law, Kristen Breaux; and his grandchildren, Jordan Ballard and Leah Breaux. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
