David's obituary

David Bizzell, of Newfield, NY, died on April 19, 2024. He was 92. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara, his son, Dan (Dawn), his daughter, Susan (Paul), his grandson, Luke (Bethany), his granddaughter, Daniela (Ben), his granddaughter, Jennifer (Ryan), his granddaughter, Emily, his great granddaughter, Isobel, and his surrogate daughter, Ginny. He is predeceased by his brother, Bud, and his sister, Mary.

David was born on February 3, 1932, at Ithaca Memorial Hospital to Professor James Bizzell and Elizabeth Peters Bizzell. He attended Cornell University and served in the Army before meeting the love of his life, Barbara, and marrying her on May 12, 1956, at the United Methodist Church in Newfield, NY. David worked at the Post Office and later managed Polysteel Corporation in Newfield, NY.

David had a boundless positive outlook on life. He was funny, thoughtful, and intelligent, with many interests. He listened intently to people and remembered their stories. He was creative and enjoyed woodworking, traipsing around Connecticut Hill looking for the perfect wood for a lamp or table. He graced these beautiful artistic pieces on his family and friends. David was also an avid organic gardener. The neighborhood and beyond enjoyed his zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes every summer.

He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
