David's obituary
David Gilbert Beaver of Millerstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 25th, 2025. He is predeceased by his father, Gilbert D. Beaver and his mother, May J. Beaver. He is survived by his wife, Lynn, his children Sam, Jacob (wife Kimberly) and Hannah, and his two grandsons Alfred and Francis. He is also survived by his four sisters, Mary Aharrah, Barbara Billow, Martha Skinner (Larry Skinner) and Ellen Wolpert (Michael Wolpert) as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
David was a graduate of Greenwood High School (Millerstown, Pennsylvania) and Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pennsylvania). At Dickinson, he was a brother of Sigma Chi, served as Interfraternity Council President and a member of the Raven’s Claw Society. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from Boston College while living in Germany.
Dave and Lyndy were college sweethearts who went on their first date in 1975. They were married in Georgetown, Washington DC on October 1st 1983 and happily married for 42 years. After their wedding they moved to Bad Homburg, Germany, where Dave worked for IBM and earned his MBA. Four years later, they returned to Alexandria, VA where all three of their children were born. In 1996, the family uprooted and moved to the United Kingdom, and called the village of Bishop’s Waltham home for the next 18 years. Dave spent much of this time joyously on the sidelines of rugby and lacrosse games, playing in or watching French horn and orchestral concerts, and driving around Europe on trips with the family. He loved hosting the many American family members and friends that paid a visit to the cottage over the years.
After returning to the US, Dave enjoyed his years of retirement spending many a long weekend at the Farm, working on his extensive collection of old cars, collecting antiques and old vinyl records, and cooking some of the finest food known to man. He also cherished the role of Pop Pop to his two grandsons, Alfie and Frankie. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and forever remembered for his warmth, the ease he brought to every room, and the gentle humor known best by those closest to him.
