David's obituary
David grew up in Soldiers Grove, WI and graduated in 1972, from North Crawford High School, where he was known for his contributions both on and off the football field; demonstrating strengths in math and science and in his ability to block, carry, and tackle with the best of them. David went on to showcase his academic and athletic talents at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he met Martha Bartz, with whom he would marry and have four children. David excelled in the field of Computer Science, working as a Software Engineer for most of his life. He was well respected in his field and among his peers. He was an avid reader of science fiction, a life-long learner, an unwavering Packer fan, a philosopher, a collector, and an outdoorsman at heart. David was happiest when traveling and when out in nature walking with his dogs or deer hunting and fishing, enjoying state and national parks and his beloved home state of Wisconsin. David will be remembered for his quick wit, his mischievous smile, his philosophical lessons, and his wandering spirit.
David was thankful in his heart for his friends, family, and everyone in his life who taught him, listened to him, pushed him, believed in him, and loved him. Those who were lucky to truly know him, understood that throughout his years he was a good soul with a kind heart. David’s children were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from their Dad during his 65 years which will live on in cherished memory.
