It does not seem possible that you have passed three years ago. I often think of how kind and sensitive you were--you brightened everyones day.  The two things I most remember is how you would say to anyone who needed a little or lot of help, "I got you" and of course how much you loved food.  Love you and miss you!!

Daryl you transcended race, age and intellect. You had an innate ability to interact with anyone, a divine gift that you embraced. You could and did talk with anyone about anything and they were genuinely engaged. My family came to know you as Andrews best friend, 6'6" Daryl. And you quickly became our adopted son. You loved video games, guns and discovering new things to eat. Man could you eat! You loved MAUI Sundays at our place and crazy strong Margaritas. We have so many incredible memories of and with you. Your greatest gift was your humility, we could talk about anything and I could say anything to you, and you to I. Sadly, neither one of us had any new or good jokes, but GOD knows we tried. I’ll miss our conversations. My life’s path has crossed an incredible number of people who I’ve revered and loved. There’s a special place in my heart for you that very few have ever been to. Your kindness and gentle demeanor were contagious. I know you’re with the Lord and there's no better place to be and I’m elated for you, yet incredibly sad for all of us. Quite often life gets in the way of living. Your passing, as tragic as it is, has reminded me that something extraordinary can come from something terrible. For me a simple life jump start, I plan to live with more enthusiasm, pay more attention to life’s nuances, to my wife and family, to our friends and my children's friends and family. I plan to honor your life by being the best version of me to everyone I meet. I’ll regale anyone who’ll listen how important Daryl’s life was and what you meant to me, to us. My heart is heavy, my soul yearning for the day I’m able to spend time with you again. I’ll miss the “Love you” Mr. Bongard and the hugs. Until now, I never realized how much I loved you. I’ll miss telling you “I Love you like a son.” Stop by and say hi in our dreams once in a while. In the meantime, pray for us. GOD Bless you son.

We never had the honor of meeting you in person little cousin but always looked forward to the day. Your grandfather (our Uncle Roy) was always crazy about you from the time you were a baby. The stories about you that he would share always made us feel like we knew you. You seemed to be a bright and loving young man and we know you will continue to shine that light down on your dad and family from above. Rest In Peace. God Bless your father Daryl and your mother and everyone who loved you.
DJ was a son, grandson & brother. He was an amazing, miraculous friend to many. We are all united in our grief and the need to pay respects to a selfless, loving & giving person. He shared his time and talents to help anyone who asked—no matter how busy he was. There is an old saying that says, “You can take someones money and it can be replaced, but if you take someones time it can never be replaced”. That is his legacy.

He was very intelligent. He told me his grandmother had him reading high school books at 3 years old. He said he also got his first computer at the age of 3. Seemed like he came out of the womb knowing all about computers. He told me how his dad was teaching him to defend himself. On his first day of kindergarten he came home telling his dad that he was in 2 fights & won! He was told not to do that again!! He also shared that the football coach in high school pressed him to try out for football. He said after a short while on the field he told the coach he was not playing that sport and was going home to play x-box.

We all have such fond memories of his love for food and how he started talking about lunch at 7:00 am. I brought him the fast food coupons every Wednesday morning. He would light-up like a child at Christmas as he looked to see what they contained & started planning his weekly meals. Ironic on the day of his passing he was on his way to join friends for lunch.

We all ache for just a little more time, he was taken too soon.
In grief I know he is no more, but tell myself to be thankful that he was in our lives. I take comfort remembering while we worked together we would share stories of our lives, genuinely listening and caring and being supportive of one another. We all love you DJ. You contributed to making each of us a better person, thank you for just being you.

To many of us he would always say, “I Got You” whenever we were frustrated or needed assistance. Now, DJ, I say, “We Got You”.
You will always be in our hearts and memories.

Dj,
I honestly can’t believe that your young life has been stolen from you . I have to believe that God needed you in Heaven to even make any sense of this . Your infectious laugh sometimes made my days at ERC bearable . Even when I had to scold you, (LOL) you were so respectful and wanted to do the best you could . No matter what I asked of you, you did it . Dj can you please go to my car and unload it? Dj would you please bring me ...? Dj I need you to..... your response was always ... no problem. I got you Deb. In the course of almost four years I watched you grow as a person and a young man. You were still growing . I thought of you as one of my kids and when you wanted to help with finances we tried together to help you get a savings going ! But let’s be honest a few burgers and some fries or wait... Pizza or wait just FOOD in general managed to drain your account at least four day’s before pay day lol., Your smile even when things weren’t the best for you made many smile in return. You would come to work sick and I would literally have to threaten you to get you to go home. (Um DJ you’re getting the whole office sick. .. go home )! You hated it if you felt you disappointed anyone . I am so happy that you and Garrett hung out and spent time together even after you both were long gone from work . Even though we didn’t speak often seeing your face on Garrett’s phone every once in a while made my day. You may not have had too much time on this earth but the impact you had on others will last a long long time . I love you kid!
Where can I start.
This guy here gave me the job he hired me with only asking me 4 questions lol. I have to say over the years I seen him grow as a person. He was always eating always making his lunch plans at 9. "Hey Lorraine do you have any snakes" Dang DJ really you going to run me dry..here some chips. Lol.. or Lorraine did you see the deals on the Wendy's App I'm running that up on lunch time.. he loved food who can deny that. I showed you how to make Cooffee for Chris and we started switching days one day me the next day was you or you use to leave sticky notes in my desk can you do the coffee for me. We talked about real problems in life. writing a positive messages on the dry erase board or a sticky note for you. How can we forget Erica calling me asking if you was at your desk lol. Dude you change my life by hiring me in the marketing department. But I honestly think that's where I belong that's where we all belong ..we had or days of beef every one did but never did we stop talking or laughing.

You was always helping people just like me in the office. You are amazing and will always be remembered you touched a lot of lifes believe it or not and this here is not a good bye it's more of a see you later my friend.
DJ... I don't even know where to begin. You truly were a positive light in this world. You were always willing to help others with a large smile on your face. No matter how inconvenient in made you, you still did it. You took care of everyone at work, whether the task was small or large you were up for the challenge when no one else was. A lot of people relied on you, and you always delivered. I will never forget all the fun times we shared together trying to make the day go by faster. I'll be honest, I'll miss answering your phone calls with "Dominos Pizza" and you'd always have a different response. Your laugh was one of those that was instantly contagious... I'll never forget it. Until we meet again my friend.

Daryl Eating a $40 Sushi Boat! He Ate all but 5 or 6 pieces... Joked to him saying how the family of 5 across could eat all that...then they ordered one between the five which was hilarious.

DJ, I was so Blessed to have you in my life. You were like a son and you will forever be in my heart. In your short 25 years you touched so many. You were full of life and your smile warmed so many people who had the privilege to know you. God Gained a Angel and I know your in a better place. Goodbye for now my sweet big teddy bear. Love Robin
