Darryl Richard Pruner passed away Sunday November 17, 2019 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.
Darryl was born June 1, 1959 in Brockville ON in the home of his parents Floyd Arnot Pruner and Doris Jean (Weagant) Pruner. He was the 9th of 10 children. He had 4 sisters Barb Pape (Kurt) of Germany, Teresa White (Paul) of Calgary, AB, predeceased by Shirley Loucks (Harry) and Donna Larcombe (John). He also had 5 brothers, Bob Pruner (Emily) of Cardston, AB, Stephen Pruner (Karen) of Maitland, ON, predeceased by Dwayne Pruner (Marg), Paul Pruner (Carolyn) and Roger Pruner
In 1980 he married his best friend and eternal companion Sharon Elaine Norring. Together they had 8 children: Amanda Cavers (Ryan) of Winchester ON, Catherine Harris (Glenn) of Canmore AB, Emma Reed (Brian) of Airdrie AB, Spring Schulzke (Lanzer) of Tweed ON, Richard Pruner (Sandra) of Airdrie AB, Rosemary Pruner of Russell ON, Matthew Pruner (Carolyn) of Ottawa ON, predeceased by his daughter Angela Pruner. Darryl and Sharon were blessed with 12 grandchildren: Abbi, Alexandra, Joshua, Annie, Calvin, Simon, Braxton, Heidi, Max, Anja, Lena and Jake.
Darryl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He generously gave of his love and time to all he met.
At his celebration of life which was held at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Orleans, many came to express their condolences and celebrate his life. A room was filled with donations to fill backpacks for the homeless, something Darryl cared deeply about.
He will be sorely missed but all our lives have been made better by knowing him.
