Darline's obituary

Darline (Hamilton) Haynes, 67, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Frisco, Texas. Born on November 8, 1957, in Waco, Texas, Darline was the youngest of six siblings in the Criner family and was deeply cherished by all who knew her.

She was a proud graduate of A.J. Moore High School’s Class of 1975 in Waco, Texas. Darline continued her education at McLennan Community College. Her professional life was as multifaceted as her talents. She was a gifted musician; her love for music found its most meaningful expression at Lovers Leap Baptist Church in Waco, Texas where she joyfully played the piano and worshipped with unwavering devotion. She also loved sharing her gift with her grandchildren who shared piano lessons with her. Additionally, Darline worked in accounting and customer service for AAFES.

Darline met and married the love of her life, Louis Haynes, in her early twenties. Their union was one of deep affection and mutual respect until his passing. Together they built a loving home centered around faith, family, and hospitality.

She was a devoted Christian whose final words were spent praising the Lord, a testament to the strength of her faith throughout her life. Her spiritual foundation shaped every aspect of who she was: kind-hearted, generous with her time and love, and always ready to make others feel like family.

Darline’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved. She adored her daughters, Consuelo DuConge and Angela DuConge Moore (married to Lonnie Moore III), and poured herself into raising them with warmth and wisdom. Her grandchildren—Ashleigh Gray (married to John Gray II), Lonnie Moore IV, Lawrence Moore, Mariah Robertson, Landon Moore, Jordan Morgan, and Mia Moore were each uniquely special to her. She shared an individual bond with every one of them and delighted in their lives with pride and affection. Meeting and loving her first great-grandchild, John “Tre” Gray III brought her exceptional joy.

Family meant everything to Darline. She is lovingly remembered by her eldest brother Percy Brinkley; brother-in-law Terrance Haynes; sisters-in-law Deborah Haynes and Dion Haynes, Tynette Hamilton (Nookie), and other family members and friends whose lives she touched deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Haynes; her mother, Mable Criner Anderson; stepfather, Tom Anderson; sisters, Mae Richard Brinkley Holley and Juanita Brinkley Smith; brothers, Earl Hamilton and Frank Hamilton Jr.; two nieces, Karen Jones and Samarian Long; and one nephew, Shawn Brinkley.

Darline had a gift for making holidays magical—her home always filled with laughter, music, delicious food (especially her famous sweet potato pies), and the warmth of togetherness. She loved gardening and hosting gatherings that brought people closer together. Her kindness radiated outwardly just as brightly as it did within.

A celebration of Darline’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Fellowship Christian Center Church in Plano, Texas.

Her memory will live on through the countless lives she enriched with her compassion, strength, music, faith—and above all—her love. May those who knew her find comfort in remembering the light she brought into their lives.
