Darlene Walker 85, of Peoria passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Crystal Lake Illinois.

Darlene was born on July 15, 1937 in Peoria, IL, to Helen (Venyak) Livengood and Eugene Livengood. She has one sister, Sharon (Livengood) Lizaola who lives with her husband Robert Lizaola in Edwards, Illinois. She was married to Charles Walker for 38 years. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2021.

Darlene is survived by her two children Charles (Marsha) Walker and Vicki (Walker) Robitski. Her Grandchildren are Jacob, Caleb and Elizabeth Walker from Charles Walker and Shawna McGuire and Joshua Attkisson from Vicki Robitski. She has three great grandchildren from Shawna Mcguire, Ashley, Laytn, and Katlyn.

Darlene, after graduating high school, married Charles Walker and began her family. She focused on being a mother and did not start working for Caterpillar until 1966 and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company, working in their administration building after 30 years.

She Attended Grace Presbyterian Church and followed her faith with daily devotions, prayers and bible study. Darlene would say that her family was everything to her and stated that she made special prayers for each of them daily. Darlene enjoyed bowling on a league, reading, listening to singers of inspiring music, and the companionship of her Yorkshire dogs.

Darlene’s family would like to thank everyone from Crystal Pines Rehabilitation Center for their love and respect and the great care they took of Darlene.

Internment is planned at 1:00 p.m. June 27th, 2023 at Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria, IL.
