Abrianna shared this photo with her tribute!
This is a beautiful tribute to my grandma from my niece Abrianna(14) My gram's absolutely loved Abrianna! I love seeing the impact my grandma has had not only on our family, but everyone who knew her! She was most positive person I've ever met! Her and I had a special bond and I love my grandma with all my heart. I miss her so much already! I loved reading what my niece wrote about her!

Darla Denice Zigler---4/1/1940-8/21/2020
Just because Darla is gone, doesn’t mean that she will be forgotten. She will forever stay within our hearts as the goofy, optimistic, kind-spirited Darla that we all knew and love dearly. Darla wasn’t just those things, she was much more. She was strong. She was brave. She was a fighter. Four years fighting pancreatic cancer takes much strength, which of course Darla would know already, and she proved how much strength you truly need to us each and every day. She always brought out the best in people, and always comforted them, always making them feel at home.

She might be gone, but she will never truly disappear. She impacted too many peoples’ life’s to ever be truly gone. Her memory will stay with each and every person that she ever came into contact with. She was someone so light-spirited and playful that you could never really forget her, even if you tried to. She lit up every room that she encountered and made everyone’s day’s ten times brighter.

You should be honored if you got lucky enough to know Darla. She was so bright and colorful. She was so admirable in so many ways. Not only was she cheerful, she was also so humble. Despite her beauty, wit, and undeniable sense of humor, Darla was always complimenting everyone else. Whomever you were, it didn’t matter, she would always stay loyal to you. Darla was no-doubt the most likeable person that I’ve ever met. And her smile, that darn contagious smile! Every time that amazing woman smiled, I would always somehow end up smiling. Whether I was sad or not, her smile always made me smile.

The only reason Darla left us, is because it would be easier for her to care for her family, by watching over them from up above. That’s just how Darla was, always caring for others no matter what. Darla will always be around, by her soul, in our memory, and in our hearts.
Grandma Darla, you loved Chelsea and Brittany Krahenbuhl from the first day you changed their diapers. You loved me as one of your very own. You became everyone’s Grandma Darla, loved and cherished by all. Words will never express the love, the joy, and the faith you so freely sprinkled in everyone’s life. Your impact in my life and Chelsea & Brittany’s life is like the sand on the seashore...immeasurable. I love you all the way to God and back and then some. I will see you in the butterflies. I will see you in the tall Pines and the Oaks. I will see you in the Blue Jays, Cardinals, Doves, and the Woodpeckers. I will feel you in the sunlight. I will feel you in the sand and surf. I will feel you in the sunflowers, white roses, quilts, and cloth napkins. I will cuddle with you in the Grandma Darla room. You will always be with me. I love you. Rest In Paradise.
Love Beth Anne
Darla,

I can literally not even put into words how incredible of a woman I have always seen you as! Since the first day I met you, I knew that you were truly one-of-a-kind and I actually often think about you. While thinking about you, I think about how I can only hope to be half as fabulous of a woman you have been at your beautiful, glowing age!!! You could NEVER hide that beautiful soul and extraordinary outlook on life as it was always so natural for you! You have been through soooo much over the past years (I don’t even know a tiny piece of it, I’m sure), but you still NEVER left home without that beautiful, cheerful smile of yours that brought not only gleaming sunlight & happiness to the entire room, but also provided comfort to all around! I could honestly go on and on and on about how wonderful of a woman I think you are, but like I said, “ I can literally not even put into words how incredible of a woman I have always seen you as!” You left a VERY BIG impression in my heart, soul & mind.... you definitely give me something to strive towards becoming in my life; striving for GREATNESS!!! “I wanna be like Darla!”
You will always be missed, but while We miss you, it shall remind us all to put a smile on our face because “That’s what Darla would do!” Darla always pushed through, no matter the level of pain & suffering life brought her way, with that darn smile on her face and I know she’ll be happy as happy can be to see and know that we are all carrying on that ‘Darla Tradition’.... especially while celebrating her life!!! RIP Darla! Xoxo

With the upmost respect & love,
