A proud graduate of Sharon, PA high school in 1980, Darla found her calling in the medical field, graduating valedictorian of her class, a feat that resonated with her pronounced appetite for knowledge and her devoted commitment to helping others. One of Darla's greatest accomplishments was raising her two children, Jacob and Aliya, single-handedly, channeling all her love and strength into their upbringing.
Darla was a woman of simple pleasures, finding joy in family gatherings around a meal with her favorite foods, including steak, chicken, deviled eggs, and potatoes in all forms. She enjoyed sipping on coffee and diet drinks, while engaging in her favorite recreational activity - going to the beach.
She had an eclectic taste in music, with a particular fondness for the 70’s and 80’s. Days in her household were often filled with sounds from various eras, creating a welcoming and joyful atmosphere. Darla was an avid TV enthusiast, with shows like American Idol, The Voice, Criminal Minds, Chicago Fire, and Grace and Frankie among her favorites. She also found great amusement in Tyler Perry movies and game nights spent playing dice, skip-bo, and an assortment of board games.
Reflecting her vibrant spirit, Darla's favorite color was purple. She loved to vacation anywhere with a beach, finding tranquility in the rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the sun. A woman with a keen sense of humor, she left a legacy of generosity, kindness, and finding the funny in everything. Her life lesson, "Treat others with respect," is an embodiment of her philosophy and a testament to her character.
Darla Weirick's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. We celebrate her life, and although she has transitioned, her spirit remains with us all, reminding us to appreciate the beauty in everyday things, and to find laughter and joy even amidst trials.
