Darla LuAnn Allen Burchett (60) of Waller, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Texas Medical Center, Houston). During her brief battle with cancer, she was visited by family and friends who came to show their love and support in her final weeks. 

Darla enjoyed many hobbies in addition to her priorities as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She loved to read, and treasured her personal collection of romance novels by Danielle Steel and Nora Roberts. Whether it was time to work or relax, Darla had a talent for making it a fun experience. Her out-going personality made her popular among friends at her favorite place to socialize, The Texas Thunder Saloon, a Bar & Grill where she was lovingly known as "Momma D".

Darla is survived by her sister, Denise Bearden; Brothers, Douglas and David Allen; Sons, Joshua and Jonathan Allen; Daughter-in-laws, Vicki and Deborah; Granddaughters, Victoria and Sophia Allen; Grandsons, Kurt and Matthew Allen, John Shields, and Keegan and Alexander Moore; And stepdaughter, Shanna Jo Wright. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Woody and Donna Gay Allen; Husband, Jimmy Dale Burchett; Stepdaughter, Tristan Dale Moore; And grandson, Ethan Conner Shields.

Darla's ashes will be interred in the Burchett Family Lot at Bethel Cemetery (Greenville, Texas) to rest eternally with the ashes of her husband, Jimmy Dale Burchett, and his family.
