It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Darby W. Thompson Sr., who went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 1, 2023. Born in 1964, Mr. Thompson lived a life showing strength, resilience, and love of his faith and family. He was a loving Dad, Grand Dad (Paw Paw), Brother, Uncle, and friend, whose spirit and wisdom will remain forever alive in the hearts of those he left behind.
He is survived by his cherished children Yahsheba Redding - Orlando, FL, Zipporah-Darvi (Bryan) Redding-Christian - Orlando , FL, Darby (Courtney) Thompson Jr - The Villages, FL, and Jyahvonte Thompson - Ocala, FL; adored grandchildren Yosiah, Zechariah, Daylen, Aviyah, Yahshua, Tyler, Rayah, Azariah, Miles, Yoseph, and Elinore; loving sisters Annie (Gene) Barnes – Memphis, TN, Dorothy (Cleveland) Cockrell – Memphis, TN, Jennifer (William) Parker – Ponchatoula, LA, Cynthia (Grain) Campbell – Ridgecrest, CA, Mildred (Ossai) Anthony – Memphis, TN, Valorie (Gerard) Murray – Centerville, OH, Jeannette (Gregory) Garrett - Memphis, TN, Ariella (Kenneth) Kelly – Memphis, TN, loving brothers Carnell (Edna) Jones – St. Louis, LA, Marvin Jones – Chicago, IL, James (Viola) Thompson – Alexandria, VA, Eugene Russell – Memphis, TN, Terry (Losilini) Thompson – Stockton, CA, Benny (Jacqueline) Thompson – Las Vegas, NV, Willie Thompson – Memphis, TN; a host of nieces and nephews, friends and those he loved.His legacy and life lessons continue through his family.
Through his faith and devotion, he touched the lives of countless individuals by leading Shabbat Study, sharing his studies of the bible, mentoring others, and encouraging people on their spiritual journeys and offering them wisdom and encouragement.
Darby Sr is deeply missed, yet he will forever remain a beacon of faith and a cherished presence in the lives of his loved ones. His love of his faith and family will never be forgotten.
