Danna ‘D.J.’ James Plauche - dedicated father, son, and friend - passed away after a long battle with mental health at the age of 51, in Tucson, Arizona on Monday June 5th, 2023.

D.J. was born to Gary and Sandra Plauche in Tucson, Arizona on January 14th, 1972 where he resided for the majority of his life. He graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School in 1990 and for his career he was a house painter bringing life to each of the homes he entered and worked on. He married, Jaimie Massey, in 1995 and together they had one child, Katelyn.

All who knew D.J., knew he loved music. His favorite band of all time was Van Halen. Other bands he admired included Skid Row, Guns and Roses, and Volbeat. DJ also liked many country music artists, Brooks & Dunn, Russell Dickerson, and Blake Shelton to name a few. Like most music lovers, he couldn't help himself but to sing or dance. D.J. loved making people laugh and smile whenever he was with them. There was never a dull moment when he was present.

D.J. is survived by his father, Gary Plauche and mother, Sandra Plauche, daughter Katelyn, sister Julie, niece Tori, and great nephew Murphy.

His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate D.J.’s life in the way that he would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.

A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” will be held on Monday, August 7th, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Desert Sunset Funeral Home located at 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd, Tucson, AZ 85741. Flowers can be sent to Desert Sunset Funeral Home for the Celebration of Life & Memorial Service; addressed to the Plauche family. We hope to see you there.
